Let's Talk Turkey
We are now taking turkey orders for Thanksgiving 2023.

Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday here at Nightfall Farm. The days turn cool. Friends and family gather together to cook a special meal and play games or take walks. We take time to savor the abundance of the season. Best of all, a pasture-raised turkey from Nightfall roasts in the oven.
We would be honored to provide the turkey for your family’s Thanksgiving table. We raise our turkeys on pasture, where these curious birds have plenty of room to socialize, forage, and enjoy the sunshine. We use GMO-free feed, and we never use antibiotics or hormones. We are proud of how we raise our birds.
Pasture-raised turkeys are rich, juicy, and tasty. You can prepare them just like you would the store-bought variety – but we're confident you’ll taste the difference. Our turkeys are fresh for Thanksgiving, so you don't have worry about thawing. Our turkeys have not been brined, so you control salt level and flavor. We look forward to hearing what you think of your Thanksgiving turkey.
Price, Size, and the CSA Advantage
Our turkeys average about 17 pounds and come whole. Turkey costs $5/lb, so the average turkey cost is around $85. We ask everyone to pay a $20 deposit when they reserve their turkey. You'll pay the balance at turkey pickup, based on the actual weight of your turkey (more on weight below!)...
...Pro Tip: Join our "CSA" for a better turkey price (12% off) and good meat all winter long! What's a CSA? It's like a buying club or a magazine subscription: you pay up front for six months of pork, chicken, and/or eggs, but you don't need the freezer space. Starting in October, you'll swing by our monthly pickup in Columbus, Seymour, or Madison for your meat/eggs. Pickup is quick and easy. Plus you get first dibs on things that are limited and/or a discount on our staples. For instance: Members receive the best price on turkeys (12% off). Shares start in October, so now is a good time to sign up. More details about that here: http://www.nightfallfarm.com/meat-shares.html
We reserve CSA members an average size turkey (about 17 pounds), but it's your dinner, so you can ask for a smaller or larger turkey. If your turkey is over 18lbs, CSA members pay the difference at CSA price of $4.30/lb.
Reserving and Picking Up Your Turkey
Last year, we raised and sold out of just over 100 turkeys. Reserve yours by mid October to ensure availability.
We'll ask you for a few details: your contact info, your ideal size turkey (Small is less than 15lbs, Medium is 15-18, and Large is 18lbs+), and which of the following pickup locations works for you:
Turkey Pickup
Pickup will be on the Saturday before Thanksgiving (November 18, 2023), leaving you plenty of time to brine or otherwise prepare your turkey, but also ensuring that your fresh turkey is good for Thanksgiving. We will spend an hour or so at each pickup site.
We email you a week or two before Thanksgiving with details about pickup location and time. Please plan to bring a check or cash so that you can pay the remainder of your bill. And don't forget a cooler to keep your fresh turkey chilled until you return home. We're looking forward to handing off your Thanksgiving turkey!
